Interesting choice in giving the C to Hodgson, definitely would show that the sabres are serious about building around a new core. I imagine that in the future Girgensons or possibly Pysyk could be a good option depending on how they develop.

I think this year they should just go with As. I think Ott, Hoff, Vanek and Staff. I don't think Staff should have one, but because he already had it, I don't think Rolston takes it away.

I think there are a few young guys that could inevitably be part of the leadership group. Hodgson is one I agree with. I could also see Foligno and Girgensons. Though I think Girgensons has the best potential as a long term C than anyone.

I love the wealth of young leaders we have.

If they go with a vet for captain, then it's Ehrhoff, Ott, or Vanek (unless he's traded)

If they commit to a rebuild around the youth, then Girgensons or Hodgson, maybe Foligno.

Hard to pick a captain when the best choices may not be here long.

Id say girgo is a big possibility for future captain. So is "captain USA" jake mccabe, id love to see the C on his sweater some day.
